Our company is 100% export oriented company, it's total export of citrus and mango is about 10 million US dollars. Beside long experience of handling the export of citrus and mango, we have large scale infrastructure i.e., two modern washing, waxing and grading plants and modern cold storage's of about 1000 tons capacity, moreover we have a packing house in Karachi to handle our consignments for export. Since this is our family business all our directors are equipped with sufficient experience of handling perishables and good knowledge of post-harvesting handling. Handpicked Kinnow are carefully, presorted at the farm. This process eliminates unwanted fruits from being transported to the processing plant. It is important that all handpicked kinnow are carefully transported for packing, where 20Kgs plastic bins are used. This process eliminates unwanted fruits being transported to the factory (processing plant). Drenching is done using TBZ (Thaibedozole) after it arrives at processing plant. Washing is done with clean water to remove field dirt. Kinnows are then carefully placed on sorting conveyor belts, where skilled workers ensure that only high quality fruit which is called grade A in our pack house is allowed to go through. Kinnow (Mandarin) are thoroughly washed through an automatic system, which ensures removal of all foreign body sticking to the skin of the kinnow (Mandarin). t is important to dry Kinnow after washing, before they are coated with wax. After washing, the fruit is dried so that wax coating could be applied. After drying, wax is applied. Wax is imported from EU countries and complies with international standards .The fruit is then passed thorough heated blowers which completes the waxing process. Kinnow (Mandarin) are thoroughly washed and treated with Citrashine + Fungazil 500EC + TBZ. After this treatment Kinnow (Mandarin) can retain freshness for up to 50 days. Post Wax Drying: Once wax is applied, the drying process begins under controlled temperature to ensure complete and effective drying of the fruits. Drenching is done using TBZ (Thaibedozole) after it arrives at processing plant. Fruit is then graded according to their sizes i.e. according to their diameters. After the whole process is finished the fruit is then hand packed carefully in cartons, which vary from 6 to 13 kg according to customer requirements. Food grade stickers are placed on the top layer and finally cartons are strapped for storage. Transportation of Mandarins Oranges is carried out by refrigerated containers clip on with Generators from factory to Karachi seaport (all the way temperature is maintained at 38 F to ensure longer shelf life).
